New Orleans Pelicans Center Involved in Violent Skirmish With Police
It began as a domestic dispute and escalated from there to a violent confrontation with police, but either way, New Orleans Pelicans center Jaxson Hayes is in a heap of trouble.

The skirmish with police got so bad, that Hayes got tased, and he and an officer had to be hospitalized. The report from TMZ says that "law enforcement were called to an LA area home for a domestic disturbance early Wednesday morning … and when cops attempted to check on the parties involved, 21-year-old Hayes tried like hell to keep them from entering the premises."
The 21-year-old Hayes was the No. 8 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, and is 6'11", 220 lbs. The ensuing brawl "was allegedly so intense, police put out an ‘officer needs help’ radio call.”
Hayes is expected to be charged with "felony battery of a police officer". His status with the Pelicans and the NBA is as yet unknown.
