Rumor: Spurs Dejounte Murray and Derrick White Available
The San Antonio Spurs are hoping to get back into the playoff mix next season, and have a number of good young pieces to work with. But one report says that up-and-coming stars Dejounte Murray and Derrick White could be "gettable" if the price is right.
Zach mocks James Bouknight at 7 and Ziaire Williams at 14 to the Warriors, if they keep their picks. A lot of possible scenarios, this one is very workable, IMO. https://t.co/yWWN3J4kkS

The Athletic's Zach Harper says league sources tell him that both Murray and White could be available, and to "keep an eye on them being active" in the trade market around draft time (the NBA Draft is set for July 29th).
Could the Spurs be looking to move up in the draft? They are at a crossroads, as Harper points out, as to what their plan is as a franchise. They fell just short of the playoffs this season, and they have the No. 12 pick in the draft, near the back-end of the lottery picks.
Dejounte Murray would certainly be a much-desired piece around the league if he is indeed available in a trade. The 24-year-old guard had his best season in 2020-21, posting 15.7 points per game, 7 rebounds and 5.4 assists. When you add his solid defense to that mix, he would be in high demand.
Murray himself has heard his name in the rumor mill, and made reference to it in a recent Instagram post:
"Rumors Can Be TRUE 👀 And Rumors Can Be FALSE 👀," said Murray in his post. "I’m Just Thankful And Grateful For The Highs, The Lows, The Blessings, The Lessons, The Setbacks, The Comebacks, The LOVE And The HATE!!!!"
The 26-year-old Derrick White is also an up-and-comer, improving in each of his 4 seasons in the league. He finished at 15.4 ppg this year, with 3.5 assists and 3 rebounds.
