These 4 Teams Are In Talks To Trade for Pistons No. 1 Pick
Who will go with the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft on July 29th? That question can be taken two ways: What player will be selected No. 1 (most signs point to Cade Cunningham), or alternatively: What TEAM will be making that pick?
An ESPN report this week indicates that four teams have begun discussions on what it would take to get the No. 1 pick from the Detroit Pistons.
The Houston Rockets (currently with the No. 2 pick), the Cleveland Cavaliers (the No. 3 pick), the Oklahoma City Thunder (the Nos. 6, 16 & 18 picks), and the New Orleans Pelicans (No. 10) are all very interesting in moving up to No. 1.
Is Cade Cunningham a lock to go No. 1? Which teams are trying to move up? Who would Detroit take if not Cunningham? That and much more from our team in a huge NBA draft questions column on ESPN. https://t.co/jnGG52Jyzj

As the ESPN article alludes to, and as we've already discussed here, Cunningham just might not be the iron-clad lock for No. 1 that everybody assumes. They are also looking strongly at Evan Mobley, Jalen Green, and a number of these trade offers that are coming their way.
Whoever has their name called, the above-mentioned clubs are all anxious to trade up and have their team name called alongside that No. 1 pick.
All talks are said to be at an early stage, but there have been some very interesting suggestions out there already:
Who says no?

◻️ Thunder receive 2021 No. 1 pick
◻️ Pistons receive 2021 No. 6 pick and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
It’s a good deal for both sides, but I wouldn’t be surprised if both teams said yes or both teams said no, @JLEdwardsIII writes.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and No. 6 for the No. 1? That definitely sounds tempting, seeing as there's still bound to be a very solid prospect at #6.
Houston and Cleveland, of course, have picks high enough to offer that would ensure the Pistons would still get an all-star talent, while up-and-coming star Brandon Ingram would be an attractive talent to pair with the #10 that the Pelicans currently own.
Lots of potential deals in the works, but it's thought that any deal like these would take place much closer to, if not on, Draft Day.
July 29th can't come soon enough!
