Audio: Jarrett Allen With A Bold Statement on the Nets' Mistake in Trading Him

Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen is not a bitter man, by any means. He has 100 million reasons to be more than happy in Cleveland, having signed a 5-year, $100 million dollar extension this offseason. But that doesn't mean he isn't thinking of what could have been, had he stayed with the Brooklyn Nets. Listen up:

Allen said on SiriusXM NBA Radio today that he feels he could have helped the Nets win the NBA championship, had they not have traded him as part of the multi-team James Harden deal.

I'm not saying I would have been the #1 piece... But I feel like I could have had a hand in helping (the Nets) get to the Finals... and hold the trophy above our heads.

The Nets were left fairly defenseless after trading Allen in that deal, and their inability to stop eventual Finals MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals was a key factor in their downfall in losing to the Milwaukee Bucks in 7 games.

Allen posted a career-high 13.2 PPG in his 50 games with the Cavs, along with 10 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. No NBA title, but his rim protection and defensive presence earned him a pretty nice consolation prize with his extension in Cleveland.
