Paul told Yahoo Sports after the signing, “After this season in Phoenix and experiencing how amazing the fans were, my chemistry with my teammates, with Book (Devin Booker), with (head coach) Monty (Williams), I knew Phoenix was where I wanted to be. It’s time to get back to work.”
The Suns needed to bring back the veteran point guard after he came in this season and transformed the team into an NBA Finalist, falling just two wins short of the championship. It was the Suns' first appearance in the Finals in nearly 30 years.
"I love the game, I love the grind, I love the workouts, all of it," he said. "This game means a lot to me, and I’m so thankful to be in this position.”
And Paul will be in that position when he's no less than 40 years old on the last year of the contract.
