Free agent Kelly Oubre Jr. has agreed to a two-year, $26M-plus deal with the Charlotte Hornets, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

Oubre Jr. had mentioned many times that despite his struggles to start the season last year in Golden State, he was not happy to come off the bench moving forward. With Klay Thompson coming back from injury next year, the Warriors had mentioned that they were looking for Oubre Jr. to provide spark off the bench - so something had to give.
The twenty-five year old averaged 15.4 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.3 apg and 1.0 spg in his only season in the Bay Area, which got off to a rocky start as he went 6/45 3P (13.3% 3P) in his first nine games.
Both Oubre Jr. and restricted free agent Lauri Markkanen have been rumored to have priced themselves out of the market, and the the fact that Oubre Jr. has signed with the Hornets may have put a dent in the Finn's availability to make a ton of money this offseason.
Lauri Markkanen and Kelly Oubre Jr asked for too much money in free agency without the resume to back it up, a league source just told me. The market has cooled significantly on both with most teams out of money.
