Multiple Sources: Kyle Lowry Heading to Heat in Sign-and-Trade with Raptors
According to multiple league sources, the Miami Heat are poised to add top free agent Kyle Lowry in a sign-and-trade with the Toronto Raptors as soon as the official free agency period begins at 6:00pm ET Monday.
The Heat have picked up point guard Goran Dragic's option, which NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski says will allow them to offer a Dragic and Precious Achiuwa sign-and-trade to the Raptors.
Lowry's long been intrigued with joining Heat star Jimmy Butler and the Miami organization, and now Miami's maneuvered to have two key elements of a possible sign-and-trade package – Goran Dragic and Precious Achiuwa -- to offer Raptors once talks can ensue at 6 PM, per sources. https://t.co/MrpMhhB7aJ

Other sources have taken this one step further, saying the Heat are exploring ways to reunite Lowry with his bff DeMar DeRozan. The former Raptor and current San Antonio free agent would have to take a serious pay cut, but may be willing to do so to compete for a championship with Lowry and Butler.
Per Heat beat reporter Barry Jackson, the Heat tried to pry DeRozan from the Spurs this past season.
Jeff Green (home in Miami) & Portis among other names that make sense. As for DeRozan, difficult to envision logical path to get him paid with Miami, though DeRozan -pursued multiple times by Heat over the years -holds Heat in high regard. Heat called Spurs earlier this yr on him https://t.co/RJ1wmTNMFH

Once Lowry is off the market, the rest of the free agent point guard dominos should start to fall as well. It all gets underway at 6:00pm ET on Monday.
