At the time of Sunday's trade, it was widely believed that Beverley would be on the move again, as the Grizzlies have a crowded backcourt already.
He was apparently ready and willing to join the Grizzlies, as he sent out a tweet immediately after the trade was announced.

In return, Memphis gets Jarrett Culver and Juancho Hernangomez. Culver was the No. 6 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, but hasn't performed like a 6th pick in his two years in Minnesota, averaging only 7.8 PPG and shooting just 40% over those couple of seasons. In fact, he'd been rumored to be on his way out for some time.
Hernangomez has also been less than dynamic in his 5 years in the league, with career averages of 5.7 PPG and 2.7 rebounds.
