Brooklyn Nets Sign Much-Needed Defender
That the Brooklyn Nets have plenty of scoring is probably the understatement of the year. But defense... that's been a bit of a challenge for Steve Nash and Co. The Nets have taken a nice step in addressing that today by signing Paul Millsap.
Millsap considered several playoff contenders – including the Warriors, Bulls and Clippers – before the four-time All-Star committed to a championship favorite in Brooklyn. https://t.co/bZ63W1InKJ

That takes the best remaining free agent off the board. The 6'7" Millsap is a solid defender, and fills a desperate need that the championship-minded Nets had.
Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that Millsap also considered a number of other teams before signing with the Nets, including the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers and Chicago Bulls.
The two-way power forward spent a number of years earlier in his career doing battle on the defensive end with the likes of LeBron James, who he is once again, based on his past comments, glad to get away from.

The 36-year-old is heading into his 16th NBA season, and the former 4-time All-Star is slowing down a bit, averaging just 9 PPG and 4.7 rebounds this past season, but he will undoubtedly be a quality addition on the defensive end for the Nets.
