Joel Embiid Calls Out Media Over False Narrative About He And Ben Simmons

Joel Embiid is vehement that the reports of a burgeoning rift between him and Ben Simmons are erroneous. In a series of tweets, the 27-year-old espoused his love for playing alongside Simmons, as well as condemned the media for promulgating these false narratives, stating that they're using his "name to push people's agendas."

Despite Simmons being the name that Philadelphia faithful — as well as most NBA pundits and fans alike — threw under the bus after their second exit at the hands of the Hawks, Embiid is coming to his defence. The four-time All-Star asserts that Simmons is "an amazing player and we all didn't get the job done. It's on me personally." Moreover, Embiid hopes "everyone is back cuz we know we're good enough to win."

Embiid's beratement of the media did not stop there, however. The MVP runner-up alluded to his own experiences and highlighted the media's penchant for creating factious stories to appease followers.

While Embiid assures fans that he and Simmons are amicable and capable of winning together, the writing appears to be on the wall for the latter's departure. Recently, reports have surfaced that the 25-year-old point guard is refusing to attend Sixers training camp, as well as demanding a trade.
