The Salacious Details on Timberwolves President Firing
At first, it was seen as an odd move for a team in hot pursuit of Ben Simmons, and just a few weeks before the start of the season: Gersson Rosas fired as team president of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Even star Karl-Anthony Towns questioned it.
Now the steamy details are out: Rosas was let go because of a very public "inappropriate relationship" with another T-Wolves employee—both of whom are married. A female staffer, the team's VP of communications & engagement, also abruptly left the team this week.
The affair came to the T-Wolves attention due to pictures that were provided to team officials this week, showing the pair kissing in a suite at a Minnesota United FC game. The details swirled around not only the Minnesota front office, but to other teams around the league as well.
The fact that, as Jake Fischer reports, Rosas' "leadership style" had been questioned, and the fact that there were some "tense staffing dynamics" in the front office, all made the decision to unceremoniously let him go the only way to proceed.
All of this chaos inevitably leads back to the question of what it all means to the future of All-Star centre Towns.
From yesterday, @ringer/@ringernba: I wrote about the Wolves finding themselves in the midst of chaos yet again, their chances of actually just finding themselves, and what it all could mean for Karl-Anthony Towns, the forgotten All-Star at their core: https://t.co/fSuCFnOTWJ

In the meantime, the Timberwolves are still one of the favorites in the Ben Simmons sweepstakes, so it will be interesting indeed to see how this latest drama affects that.
