Video: Kevin Love Blasts Team USA's Colangelo Over 'Mistake' Comment
Kevin Love didn't need to hear it. The veteran power forward was selected to Team USA and managing director Jerry Colangelo ended up calling it "a mistake". Love has come for blood.
Love was initially selected to the team at the beginning of the summer, and ended up withdrawing after playing two exhibition games and hurting his right calf. He managed to chip in with one point combined in both games.
At the time Colangelo spoke to ESPN and had this to say about Love being on the team:
I didn't think Kevin Love was going to play. I wasn't even sure he had much left to play. He reached out to us and said he was in shape and said he felt he owed us.
Love was recently a guest on LeBron James' show The Shop and didn't hold back about what went down with Colangelo and Team USA:
Not many Jerry Colangelo fans in this room after he threw @kevinlove under the bus 😬 😬 #TheShop

There was no need to do that. (Colangelo was) protecting his legacy. He wanted something to point the finger at if they lost. It was just wrong in so many ways. And for me, I'm sitting up here being the nice guy right now but honestly, fuck that. Fuck him.
Good for Love to stick up for himself. Colangelo should have kept his comments to himself and shouldn't have created a cop-out in case the team lost.
