Cleveland signs NBA's Biggest of Big Men

The Cleveland Cavaliers already have a strong big-man combo of Jarrett Allen and No. 2 draft pick Evan Mobley, along with Laurie Markkanen (and even Kevin Love), but the Cavs thinking is that you can't go wrong having the tallest center in the league as well.

They've signed 7-foot-6 Tacko Fall to a two-way contract. He impressed enough during training camp and preseason to earn the deal.  In the Cavs' preseason finale, Fall posted eight points and five rebounds.

Fall spent the last two seasons with the Boston Celtics, where he was used sparingly, averaging just 6.5 minutes, along with 2.7 points and 2.6 rebounds. On a per-36 minute basis though, he sports an average of FIVE blocks, 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Now, no one expects Tacko Fall to ever average 36 minutes a night, but in very short spurts, he can be a useful—and monstrous—player. Particularly in protecting the rim.

His lack of mobility and shooting does limit his effectiveness, so continue to expect Fall to be a... fall-back option for Cleveland. In the meantime, he'll likely spend a lot of time on the Cavs' G League team, the Cleveland Charge.
