"I Just Wait, Every Day": Suns Risk Alienating Two Star Players as Monday Deadline Approaches
Phoenix Suns forward Mikal Bridges is not happy that he hasn't been signed yet to a rookie extension. Monday at 6:00 pm is the deadline for teams to sign their 2018 Draft players to a contract, or they'll become restricted free agents after the season.
Said Bridges, "I sit there, (and) just wait every day."
On a potential contract extension, Mikal Bridges said he obviously wants to stay in Phoenix and loves it here.

“I sit there, just wait every day, keep improving and don’t let it get to me. Just gotta wait. I’ve tried to prove as much as I can as time goes on.”
Suns beat reporter Kellan Olson tells us that Bridges lamented, “I just want to be here, man. That’s what the whole thing is. I want to be here and it’s up to those guys. Deadline is close so we’ll see and wait.”
That, he has. Bridges was a key member of the Suns' run to the NBA Finals last season, while posting regular-season career highs of 13.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and an eye-opening 42.5% from behind the arc.
"(I) keep improving and don't let it get to me," said Bridges. "Just gotta wait. I’ve tried to prove as much as I can as time goes on.”
Bridges' teammate Deandre Ayton is also in a holding pattern over his potential extension, and recently voiced some displeasure about it.
Suns owner Robert Sarver risks a couple of key disgruntled employees if he doesn't step up before 6pm Monday.
