"This Could Take Four Years!": Sixers GM Daryl Morey on Simmons Saga
Philadelphia 76ers GM Daryl Morey is calling Ben Simmons' bluff. “You’re going to think I’m kidding, I’m not: this could take four years."
Daryl Morey, in a Philadelphia radio interview, confirming what's been widely believed: He will not be pressured into trading Ben Simmons. "People should buckle in," Morey said. "This is going to go a long time."

"People should buckle in," said Morey today on Philadelphia radio 97.5 The Fanatic. "This is gonna go a long time. My only job is to give us the best chance to win the title. Ben Simmons is a difference-maker. (He's) a multi-time All-Star... Right now, any trade (currently being discussed), which Ben Simmons wants, the best we can do is get role-players back. That makes no sense."
Ben Simmons made his latest moves this week, including getting thrown out of practice, and now claiming "injury"; in essence, trying to cause as much havoc for the team as possible.
In his best spin to counteract Simmons' plan, Morey had this to say: "For our coach and players, this is not tough. They come in, they're professional. They're united, they're in a great place."
And in what sounds like pure delusion, he even went so far as to say "Every day, we expect him to come in and move towards being able to help us on the court... Our hope is to re-integrate him into the team... Or we trade him for a difference-maker."
Wow. "Buckle up" indeed.
