Ben Simmons Practices Regularly With College Team, Absorbs Another Fine From Sixers

While Ben Simmons has continued to shun anything to do with the Philadelphia 76ers, including practices and games, reports are that he has been practicing regularly with a private university team in Philly.

The Sixers have fined Simmons once again this week, this time for failing to travel with the team on their current road trip, as he continues to claim mental health issues preclude him from being "game ready".  This has prompted a radio personality on Philadelphia's WIP Sports Radio to wonder if playing with college players "cures his mental illness".

Radio host Howard Eskin tweeted "I’m told Ben Simmons continues to workout/practice at St Joseph’s University. At times w Hawks team. So tell me why he can’t practice and play w #Sixers? Would love explanation from Benamin and his agent @RichPaul4. I assume playing with college players cures his mental illness."

Simmons has remained aloof from his Sixers teammates, and has been seeing mental health professionals regarding his "problem" with mental readiness to play.

The team had fined him for not cooperating with their efforts to assist him in a return-to-play plan, and now this week have reached into his pocket once again for failing to join them on their current 6-game road trip.

So while Simmons continues to wait for a trade, Sixers GM Daryl Morey continues to call his bluff.
