This is a big week for Kanter: New name, and new citizenship, as he officially becomes a U.S. citizen on Monday. Good thing for the Turkish-born player, as his home country has 10 warrants out for his arrest, and his father was even briefly imprisoned.
In addition to taking on LeBron James, Kanter Freedom has also blasted the International Olympic Committee this past week, for taking the Winter Games to China.
NBA player Enes Kanter: "Shame on organizations like the International Olympic Committee that's setting up an Olympic Games this upcoming winter in China where there's a dictatorship happening right now. [...] We need to boycott the Winter Olympics." pic.twitter.com/WQjWp7u6fV

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has now come out in support of the big man speaking out, saying "I am glad that Enes speaks up when he feels like it. I think it’s great. No reason not to."
The 29-year-old center is back with the Boston Celtics this season, after alternating between the Portland Trail Blazers and Celtics over the past 4 seasons of his 11-year career.
