Damian Lillard Took Offseason Meeting With LeBron James & Anthony Davis at LeBron's Mansion

Damian Lillard is still holding firm to his desire to "win in Portland", and be that one-team career lifer, a la Dirk Nowitzki, Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant.

But now we get a view inside what really happened this offseason, when Dame was apparently a bit more uncertain about his future in Portland. Yahoo's Chris Haynes says that Lillard took a summer meeting with LeBron James and Anthony Davis at LeBron's Brentwood mansion in Los Angeles, and how that moment reaffirmed his feelings.

Lillard was in LA to shoot a music video in July, at a time when rumors were swirling about Dame considering asking for a trade from the Trail Blazers. Then  came the invite: LeBron James asked him to come over for "lunch" to "talk shop" with him and Los Angeles Lakers teammate Anthony Davis. Was it a "recruitment" lunch? Could be.

But after the 90 minute chat, Lillard, according to Haynes, came away more committed than ever to winning in Portland. "It just runs so deep with me to win here,” Lillard said. “I want to win here. I’ve attached myself to the history of this organization and this city. Just in thinking about how long it’s been since they’ve won, I want to be a part of that coming to an end.

"If i was to get that championship for Portland, I would cry, bruh. Bruh, on the spot. I would really cry, bro. I want to win a championship here. And because of how strongly I feel about that, I don't know how rewarding it would feel for me at this point if I won somewhere else. Winning it here would be a lifetime  achievement for me."
