Rumor: Rockets' Leading Scorer Available For Trade
The Houston Rockets are 3-16. Veteran John Wall is persona non grata. To say the team is in rebuild mode would be an understatement. Anyone over the age of 25 is likely on the trade block, so the latest rumor from Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer shouldn't come as a surprise.
"There is an expectation around the NBA that Christian Wood, who’s in the second season of a three-year contract, will receive significant trade interest and that Houston will entertain offers." https://t.co/kuUQy9meoP

O'Connor says "there is an expectation around the NBA that Christian Wood, who’s in the second season of a three-year contract, will receive significant trade interest and that Houston will entertain offers."
As O'Connor notes, one of the reasons Wood signed that 3-year, $41M contract with the Rockets was to play with James Harden. The Beard, of course, is only a memory now in Houston.
Wood is only 26, but by the time this Rockets roster is ready to compete for anything, he'll be long gone. So why not get something now? And he would, indeed, fetch a solid return, with his averages of 16.4 points (21 ppg last season), and 11.3 rebounds. He just registered a career-high 33 points and 16 rebounds in a win over the Charlotte Hornets this past weekend.

With other dynamic young players, like Alperen Sengun, just itching to get more PT, moving Wood could be on the horizon.
