With this, we recently reported that Walton's job was in jeopardy due to the Kings' immense struggles. Thus, it's not all too surprising to see it come into fruition.
Now, Gentry will be taking over the task of trying to turn the Kings' season around. He certainly comes with a lot of experience, as he held the role with the Miami Heat, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns and New Orleans Pelicans in the past. In 1,105 games as a head coach, he has a 510-595 record. He also won an NBA championship as an associate coach with the Golden State Warriors in 2015.
Alas, here's to the beginning of a new era in Sacramento.
