"We've Just Got To F---in' Play Better!!": Mitchell & Gobert GO OFF After Embarrassing Loss
The Utah Jazz came into the season as one of the Western Conference favorites to make the NBA Finals. But an embarrassing loss to the bottom-feeding New Orleans Pelicans, their 6th loss in their last 11 games, led to an explosive reaction by team leaders Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert.
Donovan: “You can’t put this on Quin or the assistants. This is on us. We’ve just got to f***in’ play better.”

Donovan Mitchell: “We’re just not playing well. I’m not playing well. … This shit’s happened twice in a week. This shouldn’t happen.”

Rudy: “I don’t know how many years we’re gonna keep losing in the playoffs and not learning from it. I might be 30. I might be 40. We need to put our egos aside and learn.”

Rudy Gobert: “We’re letting a lot of games get away that we should win. At the end of the season, we’re going to feel stupid.”

“We’re just not playing well. I’m not playing well," said Mitchell. "This sh*t’s happened twice in a week. This shouldn’t happen. We’ve just got to f***in’ play better.”
Gobert, while not as colorful in his language, was equally disgusted. “I don’t know how many years we’re gonna keep losing in the playoffs and not learning from it. I might be 30. I might be 40. We need to put our egos aside and learn.”
“We’re letting a lot of games get away that we should win. At the end of the season, we’re going to feel stupid.”
They surely felt stupid losing to the Pelicans with one second left Friday night. It's only the Pels' 5th win in 21 games this season. The Jazz sit at 12-7, 3rd in the conference.
