Los Angeles Lakers Provide Update Regarding Anthony Davis
Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis left Friday night's game early against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a clear injury. Now, the team has announced that the 28-year-old has an MCL sprain in his left knee and will be out for a minimum of four weeks.
This certainly is the last thing the Lakers needed, as they are aiming to climb up in the standings. At this juncture, they have an underwhelming 16-14 record and are sixth place in the Western Conference. With that, the Denver Nuggets, Dallas Mavericks and Timberwolves aren't very far behind them. Thus, a prolonged losing streak during Davis' absence would be very detrimental for the Lakers.
Davis is having himself a very solid season yet again, as he is averaging 23.3 PPG, 9.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists. With all of this, Los Angeles will miss his offensive contributions and are in for a big task trying to make up for him being out.
This is such difficult news for both Davis and the Lakers. Here's to hoping the star is able to fully recover faster than expected and be back with the team soon.
