Minnesota Timberwolves To Be Without Guard
The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without guard D'Angelo Russell, as the 25-year-old has entered COVID-19 protocol.
This certainly is another big blow for the Timberwolves. With this news, they now have a total of eight players in protocol, which is not ideal in the slightest. Besides Russell, Karl-Anthony Towns, Patrick Beverley, Anthony Edwards, Josh Okogie, Taurean Prince, Jarred Vanderbilt and McKinley Wright are all out due to the virus.
Russell is also having himself a very solid campaign for Minnesota. The 2018-19 All-Star is currently averaging 18.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game. That kind of production isn't very easy to replace, especially with so many other players currently sidelined.
With the Timberwolves being in ninth place in the Western Conference at this time, it only makes matters worse. They resume play on December 27th against the Boston Celtics, so time will tell how many of their guys will be cleared by then.
