NBA Rumors: Celtics' Tatum and Brown "Don't Work Together"

The Boston Celtics' season—and, ultimately, its future—is not going according to plan, and rival league executives are keeping an eye on the team's braintrust, and their willingness to move on from what many believed was the untouchable Celtics' superstar pairing of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, one NBA general manager said “I think there's pretty widespread belief that they don’t work together."

Another seconded that motion, saying of the Celtics “I think they’re starting to get to a place where they don’t think he and Jayson Tatum can coexist."

Fischer thinks the ultimate breakup is on the horizon..

"This is definitely the beginning of the end of the Jayson Tatum/Jaylen Brown pairing," said Fischer on NBA Network Radio. He added that it's likely to come within the next 12-18 months.

In the meantime, the Celtics are expected to entertain trade offers this season around Robert Williams III and Marcus Smart, in addition to guard Dennis Schroder.
