Bulls Forward To Miss Time

Derrick Jones Jr. of the Chicago Bulls has a bone bruise in his right knee and will be out for the next four to six weeks.

Jones left Wednesday night's contest against the Brooklyn Nets in the opening minute, and there was concern that his season could be in jeopardy. Yet, it's been confirmed that there's no structural damage to the knee, so he thankfully should be back by mid-February. Although it is rough that Jones has to miss time, it could have been a lot worse.

Jones has been a very solid depth player for the Bulls this season and started in the team's last eight games. In 31 games thus far, he has averaged 6.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.5 assists. When seeing as how the Bulls have multiple other players sidelined, they will have to be creative with their roster.

At this time, the Bulls have a 27-12 record and are first in the Eastern Conference.
