Chris Paul Blasts Fans For Dissing 'Hardship' Players: 'Respect This Man!'
There's no doubting Chris Paul's leadership abilities. That's been proven time and again during his 16-year career. This week, he took issues with fans in Boston who were clowning on one of the Phoenix Suns' 10-day "hardship exception" players.
Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports details that Paul had some stern words for those fans who called Emanuel Terry "a 1-day guy":
My @NBAonTNT report on Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul who had words with a few fans in Boston who were insulting 10-day signee Emanuel Terry. I detailed his message and the outcome. pic.twitter.com/4BYdKkNcRY

"Emanuel Terry was on a 10-day with Phoenix last week, and during a game in Boston, Terry was being heckled by a few fans while on the bench, calling him a 'one-day guy' and other insults," Haynes explained. "Sources tell me that Chris Paul had heard enough, and addressed the fans, telling the to respect this player who is helping to keep our season alive."
One of the fans in question certainly got CP3's message, as he actually sent Terry a DM after the game, apologizing for his taunts.
Paul went on to deliver a message specifically to all "hardship exception" players who've been signed during the ongoing omicron crisis which has left hundreds of players in Covid health and safety protocols:
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, to all the players with 10-day contracts who stayed ready. You're the reason we're making it through this season; we couldn't do it without you.
Incredible message from Chris Paul, a leader among men in the NBA.
