Houston Rockets Suspend Two Players
The Houston Rockets have suspended Kevin Porter Jr. and Christian Wood for Monday night's contest against the Philadelphia 76ers.
When looking at everything that happened on Saturday night against the Denver Nuggets, this isn't very surprising at all. First, Porter Jr. got into a massive argument with assistant coach John Lucas. From here, he left the Toyota Center during halftime. Wood, on the other hand, refused to play during the second half after being benched for breaking a team rule.
Even if Porter Jr. and Wood are key players for the Rockets, it's smart that the organization is still disciplining them. Their actions were unacceptable, but especially Porter Jr.'s, as he literally left the arena in the middle of a contest.
Yet, one can also understand why the players on Houston's roster would be frustrated. At this time, they have a 10-27 record and are at the bottom of the Western Conference. With this, they also have a 1-9 record over their last 10 games.
One has to wonder if the Rockets could eventually move these two. We will have to wait and see what comes to fruition on that front.
