Lakers Sign Forward To New Two-Year Contract
The Los Angeles Lakers have signed forward Stanley Johnson to a two-year contract. It also comes with a team option for the 2022-23 campaign.
Forward Stanley Johnson has agreed to a new two-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Johnson’s final 10-day contract expires Wednesday, but his contagious defense, energy and play earn him a guaranteed rest of the year.

This is great to see, as Johnson signed multiple 10-day contracts before earning himself this deal. Now, he will be staying with the Lakers for the remainder of the season, at a minimum.
Since joining the Lakers, Johnson has been quite noticeable. In 14 games thus far, he is averaging 6.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. With that, he also is playing 21.2 minutes per night, so he certainly is getting into his fair share of action, too. This is why it's entirely understandable as to why the Lakers have decided to give him this contract.
Johnson will now have the opportunity to build on his career stats from here. In 385 career games between the Detroit Pistons, New Orleans Pelicans, Toronto Raptors, and Lakers, he has averaged 6.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.
Alas, major congrats to Johnson for earning this deal!
