Lakers Sign One Player And Waive Another
The Los Angeles Lakers have signed Sekou Doumbouya to a two-way deal. In response to this, they have waived Jay Huff.
Doumbouya was originally signed to a two-way deal with the Lakers earlier this season but was waived in November after sustaining a foot injury. Yet, the 21-year-old now will be getting a second chance with the organization.
In two games with the Lakers this season, Doumbouya averaged 7.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in eight minutes per contest. Before this, he previously played 94 games with the Detroit Pistons over two seasons. With them, he averaged 5.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game.
Huff, a 23-year-old center, appeared in four games with the Lakers this season. In them, he averaged 1.0 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game. With the South Bay Lakers of the G League this campaign, he averaged 9.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. Perhaps the youngster can land a 10-day deal with a team shortly.
Nevertheless, let's see how these minor moves work out for the Lakers.
