Miami Heat Expected To Keep Forward Around
The Miami Heat are expected to sign Chris Silva to a third 10-day contract, according to Ira Winderman.
Chris Silva’s 10-day expired Wednesday with word that the expectation is he will be signed to another on Friday, with Tyler Herro still in protocols.

Silva has come in handy for the Heat, as he has played in seven contests with them so far this season. During those games, he has averaged 9.0 minutes played, 3.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per contest. It is apparent that the Heat also like what they have been seeing. With Tyler Herro in the NBA's health and safety protocols, it has opened the door for Silva to remain with the franchise on a hardship deal.
Silva is no stranger to this kind of setup, as he also played a game with the Minnesota Timberwolves this season, too. In 67 career games between the Sacramento Kings, Timberwolves, and Heat, he has averaged 2.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 0.5 assists.
It will be interesting to see what the Heat decide to do with Silva from here. Perhaps if he impresses them more, he could land a two-way deal for the remainder of the season or even a regular contract. Alas, time will tell if that comes to fruition.
