NBA Rumors: Celtics Open To Moving Veteran Center
The Boston Celtics are debating on moving Al Horford by the trade deadline, according to Jared Weiss of The Athletic.
The Celtics are currently looking to make changes to their roster, as it's already been reported that they are listening to offers on a few of their other players, too. Now, Horford seems to be joining them in the rumor mill.
It makes sense that the Celtics want to switch things up. At this point of the season, they have a 23-22 record and are 10th in the Eastern Conference. Thus, there certainly is a chance that they could miss the playoffs entirely. This wasn't expected of them during the offseason, either.
Horford has had a decent season this year, so he could get some interest around the league. In 36 games, he has averaged 10.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. Although his days as an All-Star may be over, he still could be a solid option for a team looking to upgrade at the center position.
Horford also comes with a plethora of overall experience, so that also could attract teams, too. In 917 games between the Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Celtics, he has averaged 13.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.
We will have to wait and see if Horford finds a new home by the deadline.
