NBA Rumors: Celtics Shopping Veteran Guard

With the Boston Celtics looking to retool their roster on the fly, one player who could be moved before the deadline is Josh Richardson.

Richardson's contract doesn't end until the completion of the 2022-23 season, so he would be more than a rental if acquired by another team. In his first season with the Celtics, he has averaged 9.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per contest. With that, he has averaged 25.1 minutes per night.

It's been a disappointing season for the Celtics thus far, as they have a 24-24 record and are eighth in the Eastern Conference. However, their goal is to build a stronger roster around Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, so a player like Richardson could be traded. The same can be said about players like Dennis Schroder and Al Horford.

Richardson also comes with a lot of overall experience, so teams would certainly consider him. In 409 career games between the Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, Dallas Mavericks, and Celtics, he has averaged 12.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists.

Alas, once we get closer to the deadline, don't be shocked to see him moved.
