NBA Rumors: Jazz Interested In Trail Blazers Forward

According to Marc Stein, the Utah Jazz are interested in Portland Trail Blazers forward Robert Covington.

At this stage of the season, the Jazz sport a 30-17 record and are fourth in the Western Conference. Because of this, they are aiming to make some upgrades to their roster. In theory, Covington would do just that for them. The 31-year-old offers great versatility, as he can play small forward, power forward, and center. Therefore, they would have multiple options with him.

In 43 games this season with Portland, Covington is averaging 7.7 points. 5.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per contest. Overall, it's been another solid year for the veteran, so it makes sense as to why Utah is considering him at this juncture.

Covington also has a lot of experience at the NBA level, too. In 509 career games between the Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Trail Blazers, he has averaged 11.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. With that, he was also named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team in 2018.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if the Jazz end up bringing him before the trade deadline.
