NBA Rumors: Sacramento Kings "Definitely Interested" In Ben Simmons

The Sacramento Kings have now had nearly half a season to evaluate things, and it appears that's been enough for them to come off of their 'De'Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton are untouchable' stance, and that Ben Simmons is still in their sights. That's according to the latest report from Sam Amick of The Athletic.

Amick says "Sacramento's interest is definitely there," and that "no (Kings) player is off the table in terms of potential talks."

The Kings have struggled to a 16-23 record this season, and currently sit 10th in the Western Conference, but are only a half-game up on 11th/12th-place teams Portland and San Antonio.

Philadelphia 76ers GM Daryl Morey has stated repeatedly that he will only trade Simmons for a "difference-maker," which leaves one to wonder if Fox and Haliburton would fall into that category. The Sixers reportedly have a list of up to 30 players that they would accept in a trade, though there's no word if either of the Kings' duo are on it. It seems doubtful.

Sources tell Amick that Morey has "continued to ask for a massive haul in return (for Simmons) while frustrating some suitors along the way."
Many executives believe, in fact, that Morey is still waiting for Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal to become available. Whether the Portland Trail Blazers or Washington Wizards would consider a swap for Simmons is unknown.

And so, the Simmons saga continues. Feb. 10th is the trade deadline, but Morey has already warned that this could take a lot longer than that to get resolved.
