NBA Rumors: Thunder To Move Veteran Big Man
The Oklahoma City Thunder are getting ready to sell, as they are aiming to trade Derrick Favors.
When seeing as how the Thunder have a 14-29 record and are 14th in the Western Conference, this isn't very surprising to hear. The playoffs seem entirely out of reach, so moving a veteran like Favors to a playoff team does make sense.
Favors could be a solid role player for a team looking to go on a playoff run. In 31 games this season with the Thunder, he is averaging 5.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per contest. That kind of production isn't bad at all from the bench, so the Thunder should get a good amount of interest regarding him.
Favors also comes with a lengthy resume under his belt, too. In 782 career games between the then-New Jersey Nets, Utah Jazz, New Orleans Pelicans, and Thunder, he has averaged 10.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game.
We will have to wait and see where Favors ends up by the end of the season, but it seems more likely than not that he won't be finishing it as a member of the Thunder.
