Suns Provide Update On Frank Kaminsky
Phoenix Suns center Frank Kaminsky had surgery on his right knee and will be re-evaluated in eight weeks.
Kaminsky has been out since November due to a stress reaction in his knee. The Suns certainly miss him, as he was off to a very solid start for Phoenix. In nine games this season, he has averaged 10.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. Now due to this surgery, the Suns won't have him back until at least March.
This certainly makes the Suns' decision to sign Bismack Biyombo for the remainder of the campaign even easier to understand. In his three games with the Suns, he has averaged 9.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. If he can keep this up, it will help lessen the impact of Kaminsky's absence. Still, the Suns definitely wish they could have the big man healthy, though.
If Kaminsky can now come back on schedule, it would be very good for the Suns. At this time, they have a 30-8 record and are at the top of the Western Conference. Due to this, they need as many of their top players healthy for their inevitable playoff run.
