Video: Klay Thompson's First Basket Since 2018-19 Season

For the first time in two and a half years, Klay Thompson was able to play in a game for the Golden State Warriors. Less than a minute into the contest, he hit his first basket in a very nice fashion.

Whether you love the Warriors or not, Thompson's return to the league is nothing short of spectacular. He first missed the 2019-20 season due to a torn ACL. Then, he suffered the same fate during the 2020-21 campaign, but this time because of a torn Achilles tendon. Yet, when watching him play on Sunday night against the Cavaliers, he didn't look too rusty at all.

In fact, Thompson's return honestly couldn't have gone much better. In his 20 minutes of playing time, the 31-year-old had 17 points, three rebounds, and an assist. With that, he also recorded his 12,000th career NBA point, to go along with his 1,800th three-pointer. Simply put - it was a magical night for him.

It will be fun to see how Thompson responds to this game. If he keeps playing this well, the 30-9 Warriors should only get better from here.
