Cleveland Cavaliers Waive Guard
The Cleveland Cavaliers have waived Kevin Pangos.
A rumor recently came out that Pangos has a contract offer for CSKA Moscow, and that the guard could be on the verge of signing there. If so, he is expected to make $6 million in total and be signed until the completion of the 2023-24 season. With this decision by the Cavaliers, it seems like this could be coming to fruition.
Pangos was in his first season with the Cavaliers after spending the entirety of his pro career in Europe. He ended up making Cleveland's roster during training camp and signed a two-year, $3.5 million contract in the process. However, his time with the team is ending far earlier than that.
In 24 games with the Cavaliers this season, Pangos averaged 1.6 points, 0.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. Assuming this report about him heading to Russia is true, it doesn't seem likely that there will be much NBA interest for him.
