Danny Green With Savage Trash Talk On Ben Simmons

It appears that the bad blood between the Philadelphia 76ers and ex-teammate Ben Simmons hasn't eased up just because Simmons is now in Brooklyn. When looking ahead to the first meeting between the Sixers and Nets post-trade, Philly's Danny Green had this to say about whether Simmons would be shaking hands with his ex-mates:

Now, will we shake hands to start? Probably not. First, I'd be highly surprised if he even plays in that game... we all know he does not like to play in Philly. So if he does play in that game, I'd be highly surprised.

Here's the rest of what Green had to say:

"But say that does happen? I see it as being a very hectic playoff-like environment, atmosphere, to where it may be very rough for him." Whoa.

Green continued, "depending on how he acts... it all depends on how that game goes, how he interacts in that game and how well he plays, how cleanly or non-cleanly he or us plays against each other. That's going to determine how we shake hands. But I highly doubt he plays in that game, and if he does I highly doubt he wants to shake hands before or after that game."

Simmons not on 'cordial terms' with trade mates

Green also addressed another interesting aspect to the trade, when he questioned the relationship between Simmons and the other Sixers that headed to Brooklyn, Seth Curry and Andre Drummond.

"Interesting dynamic of how things went down, interesting dynamic of who went with [Simmons]. I haven't gotten a chance to talk to those guys yet, but I know they weren't on the most of cordial terms when he was in Philly, with Drum and Seth. So I wonder how that relationship is now."

As insider Brian Windhorst said on ESPN, "he (Green) is daring Ben Simmons to play in that game. 'I dare you to come back into Philly!'."

Circle March 10th on your calendars, folks. This will undoubtedly be the most-watched game of the NBA season.
