Heat Sign Guard To Third 10-Day Contract
For the third time this season, the Miami Heat have signed Haywood Highsmith to a 10-day contract.
Highsmith's second 10-day deal with the Heat just ended. However, it's clear that the 25-year-old has been impressing them, as they immediately signed him to another one. It will be interesting to see what happens after this new contract ends. Could they sign him to a deal for the remainder of the campaign?
In six games with the Heat so far, Highsmith has averaged 3.7 points and 1.5 rebounds per contest. With that, he has played roughly 11.9 minutes per game. Although he hasn't been dominant, he still is proving to be a useful depth player for them.
Before joining the Heat this season, Haywood previously played five games with the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2018-19 season. That is where his NBA experience ends, so naturally, he will be working extremely hard to stick around with the Heat from here.
