Houston Rockets Waive Multiple Players
The NBA Trade Deadline has come and gone and NBA rosters are mostly set, for better or worse, for the rest of the season. The Houston Rockets were linked to a number of trade possibilities but ultimately they made a relatively small move yesterday, trading Daniel Theis to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Dennis Schroder, Enes Freedom, and Bruno Fernando.
The Rockets almost immediately announced plans to release Freedom after acquiring him in the trade:

Fernando could also be released but no word has come through on his future status with the team. In order to make the trade with the Celtics, the Rockets had to release two players, which ended up being Armoni Brooks and veteran point guard D.J. Augustin:

Augustin will likely be picked up soon as teams around the NBA will value his veteran presence, and the speedy 5'11" guard is known for going off for a big game every once in a while. Augustin is capable of coming off the bench and kickstarting your second unit, and teams that are lacking bench scoring could use a player or two like the former Texas Longhorn.
