Indiana Pacers Officially Waive Veteran
The Indiana Pacers have waived Tristan Thompson. He is also is going to sign with the Chicago Bulls from here, according to Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle.
Thompson was acquired by the Pacers last week by the Sacramento Kings, but neither party envisioned themselves as a long-time pair. He did, however, appear in four games with the team, where he averaged 7.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 0.5 assists.
Thompson has had a decent year as a role player between the Kings and Pacers. In 34 total games, he has averaged 6.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 0.6 assists. He should provide the Bulls with more depth, which is certainly essential given their injury trouble. Furthermore, they also have the playoffs to prepare for, as they sport a 38-21 record and are currently first in the Eastern Conference.
It will be interesting to see how Thompson performs with the Bulls once his contract is officially announced. He's a solid veteran to have around, so Chicago should be excited to bringing him in.
