Lakers Provide Update On LeBron James
The Los Angeles Lakers have announced that LeBron James is expected to miss Wednesday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Furthermore, he also could miss a few more contests after that.
James has been out for the last three games due to an irritated left knee. He also left the Lakers' road trip and went back to Los Angeles for further testing. Although he hasn't sustained a major injury, the Lakers are taking their time with the veteran.
The Lakers are currently on a three-game losing streak and have fallen to a 24-27 record. With that, they are ninth in the Western Conference, so it's very concerning that James may have to miss multiple games from here. Now is the time when they have to cement themselves as a legitimate playoff team. Being without their best player will make that very challenging.
It's been another marvelous year for James from an individual standpoint. In 36 games, he is averaging 29.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 6.3 assists. That kind of production is obviously missed right now by the Lakers, but here's to hoping he only sits out for Wednesday's game and not any others after it.
