Nuggets Forward Inching Closer To Return
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. is expected to be cleared for contact next week. He also noted that Porter Jr. is aiming to return to the lineup in March.
Porter Jr. has been limited to just nine games this season. In them, he averaged 9.9 points. 6.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists. Overall, he was off to a very solid start, but it sadly came to an end rather quickly. The 23-year-old was initially ruled out for the remainder of the season after having back surgery, but now it seems that this is on the verge of changing, as he is healing ahead of schedule for now.
It would be massive for the Nuggets to get Porter Jr. back this campaign. At this juncture of the season, they are gearing up for the postseason and sport a 35-25 record. Given the fact that he has become an important part of their roster, he would provide them with a lot of help from here.
In 125 career games with the team, he has averaged 14.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists. We will have to wait and see if he ends up being able to grow on these numbers shortly.
