Oklahoma City Thunder Sign Center
The Oklahoma City Thunder have signed Olivier Sarr to a two-way contract.
Sarr is a familiar face to the organization, as he signed two 10-day contracts with the team this very season. Yet, he only went on to appear in two contests, where he averaged 2.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 7.0 minutes played per contest. Yet, with the team promoting Aaron Wiggins to their 15-man roster recently, they had room to give Sarr this two-way deal. Now he will have the chance to build on his numbers.
Sarr has spent the majority of this campaign in the G League with the Oklahoma City Blue. In nine games with the team, he has averaged 8.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 0.7 assists. Overall, he has some success against his opponents, so it will be interesting to see how much of this translates to the NBA level.
At this point of the campaign, the Thunder have an 18-40 record and are 14th in the Western Conference. Due to them being entirely out of the playoff picture, it feels like the right time for them to give a young player like Sarr a chance. Let's see how the 23-year-old performs from here.
