Oklahoma City Thunder Waive Forward
The Oklahoma City Thunder have waived KZ Okpala.
The Thunder just acquired Okpala from the Miami Heat a few days ago, but it appears that his time with the organization has already come to a close.
Okpala played in 21 games this season with the Heat, where he averaged 3.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.7 assists. He was not particularly utilized much, either, as he only averaged 11.6 minutes per game with Miami.
In fact, over the course of his three-year tenure with the Heat, he only suited up in 63 total contests. During them, he averaged 2.8 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.5 assists. If he lands a contract elsewhere, he will be looking for more playing time.
When seeing as how he is still just 22 years old and was a second-round pick back in 2019, it seems possible that another team will be open to giving him a chance. However, that team will not be the Thunder after this development.
