Pelican Sign Forward To 10-Day Deal
The New Orleans Pelicans have signed Alize Johnson to a 10-day contract.
The Pelicans will be the third team that Johnson has played for this very season. In 19 games between the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards this campaign, he has averaged 1.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 0.4 assists. He was first waived by the former and then not re-signed after his 10-day deal expired with the latter.
Johnson has been aiming to cement himself a permanent spot in the NBA since entering it. In 68 career games over four seasons between the Indiana Pacers, Brooklyn Nets, Bulls, and Wizards, he has averaged 2.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 0.4 assists. Now, he will be looking to build upon his experience with the Pelicans from here.
At this point of the campaign, the Pelicans have a 25-36 record and hold the 10th place spot in the Western Conference. However, the Portland Trail Blazers have the same record, so they each are competing for the final play-in spot. Thus, it isn't too surprising to see the Pelicans make this minor depth move.
