Rockets Sign Point Guard
The Houston Rockets have signed Daishen Nix to a four-year standard contract.
Nix had been under a two-way contract with the Rockets but has rightfully earned this sweet promotion. In eight games this season with Houston, the 20-year-old has averaged 3.8 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. Yet, he has shined immensely with the G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers, as he has averaged 24.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 7.3 assists. Needless to say, he has proven that he is ready to play at the NBA more regularly.
The Rockets are a good team for Nix to begin his full-time NBA career. They are in the middle of a full-on rebuild and currently sport a 15-41 record because of it. Due to this, it seems likely that he will get plenty of chances to succeed from here.
It will be interesting to see how Nix performs from here after landing this multi-year contract. Nevertheless, it's a big accomplishment for the youngster.
