Toronto Raptors Lose Key Player To Injury
They haven't even played a game in 9 days, and yet the Toronto Raptors have been bitten once again by the injury bug, losing a key player. Forward OG Anunoby has suffered a broken ring finger in practice. There's no word at this point how long he'll be out, though it is his shooting hand that's affected.
Raptors say OG Anunoby is out vs. Charlotte with a fracture of the ring finger on his right (shooting) hand. I'm assuming this happened in practice on Thursday? Fred VanVleet is questionable (knee). Anunoby missed 14 games earlier with a hip flexor he also injured in practice.

Maybe the Toronto Raptors need to keep OG Anunoby out of team practices? As noted by reporter Michael Grange, he also suffered an injury—a hip flexor—in practice earlier this season that kept him out of 14 games.
He's also missed time this season while out for health and safety protocols.
Unfortunate incidents are not foreign to OG in his young career; he also missed the team's 2019 playoff run to the championship due to emergency hernia surgery.
The 24-year-old has steadily improved his numbers throughout his 5-year career; He's currently averaging 17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists, while playing his usual staunch defense.
