Video: Luke Doncic Goes OFF and Hits SEVEN Threes In The First Quarter
Luka Magic, indeed. The Dallas Mavericks have had a busy Thursday as they traded Kristaps Porzingis to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans before they hosted the Los Angeles Clippers for a game at American Airlines Arena. Often, the game directly after a trade is a bit of a sluggish performance as emotions are running high and you typically have fewer players available due to timing.
Luka Doncic took that personally and decided to go off for one of the craziest first quarters in NBA history, scoring 28 points on 10 of 13 shooting including 7 of 10 of his three-point attempts.
Luka Dončić finished the first quarter of tonight’s game with 28 points on 10-13 shooting, including 7-10 from deep.

Per @Stathead, Dončić is only the 13th player since 1996-97 to record 18+ points in a quarter and the first since James Harden in November 2019. pic.twitter.com/5uJr3Xu7Y7
Check out the first quarter highlights in the video below:
Luke finished with a career-high 51 points, although surprisingly, he didn't hit another three for the rest of the game and the Mavericks went on to win 112-105. The Mavericks' next game is against the same Clippers team tomorrow night and new acquisitions Dinwiddie and Bertans should be available to play.
